How do I join a hardcore server from this list?
To join a server, scroll through the list above and pick one that looks interesting, for example a hardcore server with a deathban length you are comfortable with, or one that resets its map regularly. Once you have found one, click the Copy IP button which is located to the right of the banner. Then open Minecraft, click Multiplayer, click the Add Server button, paste the IP that you just copied into the address box and save. If you have issues joining the server, make sure you are on the correct Minecraft version. Keep in mind that on these servers you usually start with minimal gear and items, so you should play carefully.
What are these types of servers and how do they work?
A hardcore Minecraft server is the multiplayer version of the hardcore mode, where you only get one life instead of respawning normally. When you die, you are usually banned from the server for a set amount of time (this could be a few hours or even days). Some of the more lenient servers with hardcore will allow you to vote in-game or purchase unbans on their store to let you play quicker, while some servers will go as far as using permanent bans where one death means you can never join that map again. Many hardcore servers also have PvP enabled and allow raiding or griefing, which means you have to worry about other players along with mobs.
How do I find the best hardcore server to join?
When you are trying to find the best Minecraft hardcore servers to join, it is important to decide what you are looking for. If you are new to hardcore, you might want to join a server that has shorter bans, while if you are experienced you may prefer longer bans. It is also worth checking if PvP is always on (some servers have spawn protection when you first join) and if base raiding is allowed, and whether the focus is pure survival or if there are kits, claims or other features. Try a couple IPs from the list, play for a little bit and then stay on the server where the difficulty and community match what you are looking for.
